Turning Obstacles into Opportunities

I need to get bug spray. Both of my ankles are surrounded by 360 degrees of bug bites. I’m taking it as a compliment. I’ve got some sexy ankles. Everyone wants a piece. Come get some, bitches. Boy, life is good right now. I’ve been finding my groove out here in all sorts of different … Continue reading Turning Obstacles into Opportunities →

Performance Through Trial and Error

Holy smoked salami is it a beautiful day today. The weather in Austin is very interesting. It’s super nice one minute and then pouring penis the next. The weather app will say it’s going to be 79 degrees and then it turns out to be 100. It’s kind of fun. I always get a chuckle … Continue reading Performance Through Trial and Error →

Finding Success on Stage

Last night was… amazing. I was able to get on stage two times for the second night in a row, and both of my sets went extremely well. The first mic was at a dive bar in Pflugerville, about twenty minutes north of Austin. It’s exactly what you would picture if you thought up a … Continue reading Finding Success on Stage →

Falling Forward

I got back on the comedy horse last night and was able to hit two open mics in Austin. We got a pretty big rain storm last week so a lot of mics got cancelled. On Thursday I ended up going to two mics expecting to perform but neither ended up actually happening. I think … Continue reading Falling Forward →

Getting Weird and Finding My Crowd

Holy smokes do I love Austin. It’s only been a few weeks, but I feel completely at home here. I came here not knowing a single person, but I’ve already made so many friends and met so many interesting people. I was invited to the most incredible gathering this past weekend by a new friend. … Continue reading Getting Weird and Finding My Crowd →

Open Mics and Meeting Friends

Where am I? What is happening? Whose chair is that? What a whirlwind of a week it has been. I tell you what, I tell you whatttttt. I went to four open mics last week in three days and totally burned myself out. That and having too much caffeine. I'm super sensitive to caffeine and … Continue reading Open Mics and Meeting Friends →

Open Mic Comedy

What a thing it is. Comedy of the open mic variety. I went to my first open mic since moving to Austin last night, and it was a lot of things: Fun, interesting, weird... all of it. I arrived early to see that I was going up last, which wasn't exactly what I was hoping … Continue reading Open Mic Comedy →

Random Stat of the Day Volume 17! 😃
Spent some time out at the Barton Creek green belt over the weekend and it was magical. There was a storm the night before and the water was trickling off the rock face in the most glorious manner. I sat on a rock down the way a bit and wrote for a while. Writing in nature is remarkably therapeutic. Follow the link in my bio to read the full post 🙂
Had an amazing time up in the Sierra mountains with the family last week. We went on an incredible hike, led by Jax, who clearly didn’t enjoy himself at all.
Couldn’t have had a better fourth with my buddies. The hardest part about moving to a new city by yourself is the people you leave behind. Can’t wait to see these idiots again soon.
So excited to call this city home 😃
37 days, 4,500 miles, 16 cities and 14 National/State parks later, I’ve arrived in Austin, Texas and I’m ready to do big things! 😃
