Poem: The Coffin

I've attached the hammock to the trees
stooping awfully close
to the rocks below

it's funny when you sit still
how many little friends you make
tiny white caterpillars
crawling on my hairy legs
frequent fliers
the size of a cookie crumb
buzzing on my head

I think some of them
have some pretty good ideas
others
not so much
they're lucky they have no hands
or they might build
a silly civilization
stuck
in a never-ending loop
of construction and destruction
arguments abound

comfort caused the coffin
out without a sound.
