Shadows and Reflections

Hidden behind the veil of victimhood
the helpless sinner waits
she cries and she cries
points at all the passers by
the main in the suit
she can't stand him much at all
she's never met the guy
but she starts concocting a plan
to destroy his tidy little life
throws a slew of angry words in his direction
every -ist she assumes he is
every guilt she wishes he would bear
not his own
but of those from the past
as the shade covers her eyes
she walks by the water
but never stops
to see her own reflection.
