Some days you just find your place
the breath comes easy
every moment flows into the next
like a crystal creek
over a series of smoothed stones
you don't have to think
the body moves on its own
and you sink into a space
like a rock
where you lie for as long as time allows
it shouldn't be
but it's the most comfortable place you can imagine
the clouds roll over a formed arch
split at the seams
and your wandering eyes catch the mountains in the distance
snow-covered as the sun shines
a happy family laughing in the valley
and you simply make peace
with all you've done
every mistake
every moment of grace
you sink into the stone
and let the cosmos wash over you
submitting to your fate.
